NEW YORK CITY — A host of new coronavirus rapid testing sites opened across New York City on Friday. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the 11 new sites amid a sprawling briefing that covered public safety in New York City, new COVID-19 testing locations in Brooklyn and Queens, reopening nursing homes to visitors and the continued controversy over deaths in nursing facilities. The sites will offer $30 rapid tests that can give results within minutes, Cuomo said. "I believe that testing is the key to the reopening of the economy," he said. Cuomo previously outlined plans to reopen weddings, sporting events and other gatherings with the help of rapid tests. He said the state will open more sites in the future.
