Ex-NFL Player Will Talk Black Culture With Anne Arundel Students

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Former NFL player Rashad Jennings will join Monarch Academy Annapolis for a virtual Black History Month event on Feb. 26. The ex-running back will discuss Black culture and those who influenced him. Jennings played eight seasons, split between the Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and New York Giants. He racked up 3,772 career rushing yards, 1,469 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns. Jennings retired after the 2016 season. In 2017, Jennings won "Dancing with the Stars" with his partner Emma Slater. He released his first book in 2018, titled "The IF in Life: How to Get Off Life's Sidelines and Become Your Best Self." The New York times recognized the memoir as a best-seller. Jennings wrote a children's book called "Arcade and the Triple T Token" in 2019. He also started The Rashad Jennings Foundation, which inspires youth education and fitness. The athlete's talk with Monarch Academy Annapolis will be the last in the school's "I am… Series." The event is free and open to the public. It starts at 5 p.m. More information is available here.
