Columbia influencers, business professionals, developers, and others will give talks on specific topics related to their expertise. To kick off Women's History Month our first Topic will be Women in Hospitality: Persavering through Covid-19. Our panelist will be: - Kim Jamieson - Director of Marketing & Air Service Development, Columbia Metropolitan Airport - Kelsey Carmichael, - Director of Marketing - Experience Columbia SC - Lenza Jolley -Communications Manager, South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association. Tickets are $15 and come with a boxed lunch! Lenza is a seasoned communications professional with more than 10 years of experience in the hospitality, insurance, and nonprofit industries. In her current role with the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association, Lenza oversees all of the organization’s public relations, advertising and marketing efforts. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in graphic design from the University of South Carolina. Lenza currently serves as Lieutenant Governor for the American Advertising Federation’s Third District, representing South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. She has previously served as President of AAF of the Midlands; and as a board member for Community in Schools of the Midlands and Time for Art Gala Chair for Columbia Opportunity Resource. Lenza is a 2017 graduate of the Riley Institute’s Diversity Leaders Initiative (Midlands X). Kim Jamieson Director of Marketing and Air Service Development Columbia Metropolitan Airport As Director of Marketing and Air Service Development, Jamieson will be tasked with setting, managing and executing the overall strategic marketing direction for the airport, while also working to proactively increase air service to the airport. Jamieson was most recently the Public Relations Manager at the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism (Discover South Carolina). While in that role, Jamieson oversaw both domestic and international media relations, managed the award-winning South Carolina Chef Ambassador program and spearheaded numerous events for statewide tourism partners. A Greenville native, Jamieson attended the University of South Carolina, where she earned a B.A. in public relations and a Masters in Mass Communications with a concentration in Integrated Marketing Communications. She currently serves on the national Public Relations Society of America Travel & Tourism executive board and is a Board of Trustee member for Historic Columbia. A graduate of Leadership Columbia (class of 2014) and Leadership South Carolina (2015), Jamieson was also named an “Outstanding Young Alumni” by the University of South Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communications in 2016. As the Director of Marketing for Experience Columbia SC (ECSC), Kelsey is a passionate cheerleader for Columbia and its continued growth. ECSC strives to build awareness of Columbia as a destination for leisure, sports and meeting & convention travel. Boasting our region as the unexpected urban South, ECSC uses vibrant visuals and an optimistic and inviting tone of voice to sell Columbia as the next hot spot for travel. At the onset of the pandemic, ECSC had to quickly shift its marketing tactics (several times) to coincide with the changes taking place throughout 2020 and into 2021. From website content to advertising messages to the images being used and even the tagline, the ECSC marketing team adapted with every turn. In her role with ECSC, Kelsey oversees the management of several websites, advertising placements, organic and paid social and search, and assists with building strong community partnerships. Kelsey is also on the board for Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR) serving as the talent retention action team lead, is a member of the Junior League of Columbia and serves on the advisory committee for the Columbia Food and Wine Festival.
