Public Meditation to protest Line 3 - Join with hundreds of actions around the world calling for bold solutions to the climate crisis.
We are calling for climate justice, an end to fossil fuels and deforestation, and a renewable future for all.
The Line 3 project would build a new tar sands pipeline running over a 1,000 miles from Alberta to Wisconsin, transporting 760,000 barrels of carbon-intensive tar sands sludge oil daily. The pipeline would equal the emissions of 50 new coal-fired power plants, endanger 800 wetlands and 200 waterways, and violate the treaty rights of the Anishinaabe people.
On March 31st, 18 banks, including Chase, Citi and Bank of America, will decide on whether to renew a $2.2 billion loan to Enbridge, the company behind the toxic Line 3 tar sands pipeline. Send them an unequivocal and resounding: NO!
The last wildfire season in California has made abundantly clear that the time to act on climate is now. Let's leave an inhabitable earth to future generations.
