Homeless shelter for stray cats...

I want to build a homeless shelter in our yard for a couple of the stray cats that keep coming around. If you have a large cardboard shipping box from an appliance such as a refridgerator or washing machine / dryer, I could use it. I'd put bedding in it and a warm light. I can drap it with a tarp to keep it dry. Thanks!
