PROVIDENCE, RI — As Rhode Island's coronavirus vaccine rollout ramps up, the Department of Health is working to make sure all residents have equitable access to doses. On Friday, the department said it is working with communities to get vaccines out to the homebound, who may not be able to get to a vaccine clinic.
The department is using these municipal partnerships to develop a registry of people in this situation, a spokesperson for the department said. Homebound residents, their health care providers or caregivers can also fill out an online form to be part of the registry.
During Thursday's weekly news conference, Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, the director of the department, reminded Rhode Islanders that equity will continue to be a main focus of the state's distribution process going forward.
