Press release from the City of Los Angeles: February 19, 2021 LA Civil Rights presents a Black History Month event: African American Equity in Media, a live discussion with African American journalists. This roundtable discussion, hosted by Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department (LA Civil Rights) & Councilmember Mark Ridley Thomas will bring together reporters, editors, and journalists to engage in a meaningful discussion on African American representation in newsrooms and news coverage moderated by LA Civil Rights Executive Director Capri Maddox.
