Grand National Golf Course is currently accepting applications for a Full Time Irrigation Tech. The Irrigation Tech is responsible for maintaining and repairing all aspects of our automatic irrigation system as well as drainage systems throughout the golf course. Grand National is part of Alabama’s Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. Our facility includes 54 holes of golf, including two championship golf courses, an 18-hole par 3 course and practice facility. Responsibilities Include: • Installs, repairs, replaces sprinkler heads, valves, piping systems and satellite controllers as needed. • Records daily water usage and visually inspect pump station. • Monitor course for irrigation leaks. • Prioritizes and schedules repairs and preventative maintenance as directed by supervisor. • Maintains inventory of parts needed for repairs to all aspects of the irrigation system. • Assist with other course maintenance activities as needed. Experience Requirements Include: • Previous golf course maintenance experience a plus. • Must have previous experience working with automatic irrigation systems. Golf course irrigation experience a plus. Special Requirements: Candidates must have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and work well with others. Must be self-motivated and take pride in their work. The ability to finish tasks in an efficient manner is a necessity. Must be willing to work long hours when needed, including weekends and some holidays. Must have good time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks. Good attendance and punctuality are important to being successful in this position. The working environment is often wet, muddy, and dirty. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
