LAKEWOOD, OH — A 50-year-old Lakewood woman was killed in a wrong-way car crash on State Route 2, police announced. At 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Charmain Woods drove west in the eastbound lane and hit a Ford Explorer with her car, Cleveland police said. Woods was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 49-year-old man, was taken to the same hospital. He suffered severe injuries, police said. A 14-year-old boy was a passenger in the Explorer. He broke his arm and leg in the crash.
