Gunman Drives Away After Fatal Shooting: Police

ATLANTA — Police are trying to determine why a man was shot and killed Wednesday evening in northwest Atlanta. Officers responded to a report of gunfire near the intersection of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and Bolton Road around 6 p.m., on Wednesday, police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant said. They arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man, who has not been identified, was taken to a nearby hospital. There he died, despite efforts to save his life, Grant said. Homicide investigators are trying to learn the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The investigation is ongoing. Please return to Patch.com for updates.
