Description
We are a premier, high-end breeder of Lamancha Dairy Goats and a fully licensed and regulated dairy in the State of Idaho. We are seeking farm help beginning March 22th. Initially the position is part-time, approximately 25-30 hours per week but can evolve into a full-time position by early summer. Candidates must have farm and dairy experience, be highly motivated, passionate about working with animals, detail oriented, reliable AND prompt. Tasks will include but not limited to feeding, cleaning, herd management (assisting with vaccines, disbudding, worming, hoof trimming, grooming, etc.), prepping goats for shows and appraisals, helping to maintain the property and facilities, milking and sanitization of milk equipment, assisting with breeding during the breeding season, assisting with kiddings and the on-going care of goat kids.
Candidates must be capable of comfortably lifting 75 pounds in weight. Anyone with prior substance or alcohol abuse need not apply. Non-smokers only. Compensation will be based on experience level.
The ideal candidate is a person who wants to build a career on our farm and aspires to take over full-time herd manager responsibilities. This is an outstanding position for someone wanting to learn what it takes to start and successfully run a farm business, end-to-end.
Farm is located in Eagle, ID (a suburb of Boise)
