Irrigation and Grounds Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities: · Ability to Maintain and service all types of Irrigation Systems · Perform regular system maintenance, including spring activation, programming controllers and fall winterization of the systems. · Knowledge of irrigation components and functions · Ability to inspect, troubleshoot and repair all parts of a sprinkler system including timers, valves, backflow devices, pipes and sprinkler heads. · Ability to recommend water saving strategies. · Certified by State of New Mexico for fertilizer/pesticide applications with ability to apply sustainable and best practices to those applications. · Safe operation of the following equipment: o company vehicle, with or without a trailer. o Landscape equipment including trenchers and tractor. o Electrical diagnostic equipment including locator, meters and fault finder. o Hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes, pipe cutting tools. o Must maintain all equipment in good clean condition. · Use of technology for reporting purposes. · Good communication and customer service skills. · Ability to lead or supervise others. · Must have a positive attitude, solid work ethic, be punctual, dependable and safety conscious. The irrigation tech may assist with installation of landscaping and other duties as may be required to maintain the property in a Class A condition. Including snow removal, weeding, or other duties as needed. Certifications Required: ASSE 5110 Backflow Prevention and assembly Tester ASSE 5130 Backflow Prevention and Assembly Repairer New Mexico Commercial Applicators License Required Skills: · Ability to lift up to 50lbs on a routine basis · Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis · Ability to work outside in all weather conditions · Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision · Must wear work boots and appropriate attire and present yourself in a clean and professional manner. Shirts and hats will be provided. · Must practice safety at all times · Must wear company provided PPE at all times. · Must have valid NM Driver’s license and maintain a good driving record A Background and drug testing is required for all applicants considered for this position.
