The Position: The Facilities Manager is a multi-faceted role responsible for the oversight, coordination of, and participation in, the daily maintenance and repairs for New Avenues locations in the Portland area. This includes but is not limited to performing hands on maintenance and repair work, coordinating with vendors for outsourced maintenance and repair needs, and supporting New Avenues part-time Facilities Maintenance Specialist. The Facilities Manager is also responsible for ensuring compliance with required building safety testing, inspections, and ongoing staff safety drills. Another function of this position is to manage the required service calendar for New Avenues agency vehicles. Responsibilities of the Position: • Manage an ongoing maintenance request mailbox receiving incoming maintenance/repair requests submitted by staff. Coordinate and prioritize such requests to be efficiently addressed • Address all maintenance/repair requests either by performing the work, assigning it to the Facilities Maintenance Specialist, or outsourcing it when appropriate • Coordinate with contractors and vendors on repair and maintenance that is out of scope (HVAC, major electrical, major plumbing, locksmith etc.) • Coordinating efforts with the Facilities Maintenance Specialist, tasks will include but are not limited to: o Drywall repair o Interior and exterior painting o Door, door handle, and minor lock repair o Cabinet repair o Hanging/mounting items such as shelves and wall decoration o Exterior upkeep of the two downtown locations o Installation and removal of office furniture o Disposal of large items to recycling or transfer station • Serve as on-call for any urgent maintenance matters that may arise. This is rare but may occur on evenings and weekends. • Serve on New Avenues Safety Committee, conducting quarterly site safety inspections for the two downtown locations, addressing maintenance/repair related safety issues, and oversight of all required staff safety drills for completion.
