I left home when I was 16 years old. My adapted parents put me on a bus and gave me $40.00... The year was 1969. It wasn't long before I landed in Boulder Colorado... Mininmum wage at the time was about 1.75hr.... I earned my way most of the time. In the mid 70's I had some hard times. At some points in time I begged for change. Some people gave. Some didn't.I never expected government, state or city help... However I was extremely grateful to the Salvation Army... Who will give you a place to sleep and food to eat with nothing expected in return. Later in life in the 80's again hard time. I found government sponsored organization that would help people in need. I did collect unemployment for a time. That money was so important in those days... My hard times ended in the 80's. I worked 40 years. Raised a family, Retired.... With my investments and my house.. I'm a retired millionaire. If I pass a person on the street asking for monetary help. I'll drop them a 20 dollar bill everytime with no questions asked. I don't care why they are asking. They are asking. Ive been there. I can afford to help. I'm gratefull for a democratic society that does offer programs for those in need...
Joe Biden...... You rock....Your not perfect but, I suport you in every way!
