Shifts: Mon, Wed, Thur, Sat. 5:30-9am. Seeking one staff member for all shifts. Summary: Consistent with the Christian mission and Hope for Life Vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Tennis Director, the Tennis Maintenance Tech is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, safety and security of all tennis department areas and vehicles. This individual shall make sure that department equiptment, tennis courts, and grounds are exceptionally clean, safe, attractive, and functional Duties and Responsibilities: • Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility; model the “new way to work”. • Oversee and manage all tennis facility on court maintenance needs. • Provide maintenance and light repairs on program equipment. • Perform necessary preventative maintenance and repairs for tennis vehicles and tennis court sweepers. • Maintain a standard inventory of supplies and equipment. • Perform all tennis grounds keeping for the tennis areas. • Insure safety in all tennis areas by making sure that areas are keep cleaned, maintained and safe as outlined in daily checklists. • Help train and evaluate current and new tennis maintenance staff ensuring the most efficient and productive use of manpower on a daily basis. Education / Experience Required: • Minimum 18 years of age • High school diploma or equivalent preferred • Minimum one year experience working in a maintenance role Certifications Required: • Pre-hire: complete YMCA of Middle TN application for employment, new hire packet, Praesidium Child Abuse Detection / Prevention training and BBP. • Before first shift: First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Emergency Oxygen Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: This position requires skill in or familiarity with general light maintenance of department light duty maintenance vehicles. Ability to take initiative to complete any/all task requirements. He/she should have knowledge of grounds keeping, development of personnel, and financial management as well as skills in written and verbal communication, human relations, problem solving, and organization/task management. Physical Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift up to 100 pounds. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level is usually minimal to moderate.
