Description

CREATIVE PLAYTHINGS INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR INSTALLATION CONTRACTOR Creative Playthings has Installation Contractor opportunities in Millis, Massachusetts. Creative Playthings is a full service, high quality, retailer of residential outdoor play products for children. To facilitate the service component of the retail sale, the Company engages the service of independent contractors to deliver, assemble and install equipment purchased by its customers. The Contractor is not an employee, agent or partner of the Company. Qualifications of Contractors: The Contractor should be able to operate independently, have a pleasant personality and a reasonably good command of the English language, so that he/she may communicate with the customer. Because of the nature of the work, the assembling and installing children's play products must be safe and secure. The Contractor is the last individual who comes in contact with the customer; therefore it is incumbent upon them to leave a positive impression with the customer. Product Delivery and Installation and Items to be serviced: The main product categories are residential wooden backyard play sets, basketball goals, trampolines and related accessories. Additional services include the installation of play zones, performing maintenance on older Creative Playthings swing sets, and moving previously installed swing sets from one property to another. Some installations may require "minor" landscape grading. Personal Requirements of the Contractor: The Contractor must be a registered business. He/she must have a respectable looking truck in good mechanical condition capable of handling loads of up to 2,000 lbs and posses the labor skills and tools required for carrying out work under the terms of this relationship. Insurance Requirement: The Contractor shall possess a general public liability and property damage insurance policy with minimum coverage of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in the aggregate. The Contractor must provide a Certificate of Insurance naming the Company as an additional insured. Additionally, the Contractor should comply with all local and state employment requirements for himself and his employees. Compensation of the Independent Contractor: There are two components of payment; a trip charge, for the delivery of the equipment, which is based on the distance traveled from the service center to the customer's home and payment for labor performed consisting of assembly, installation and other service work completed. The Contractor's labor rates will be based on agreed upfront negotiations with the Company. For more information, please contact Donna Gooch, Director of Human Resources at 508-656-1533
