Silver State Analytical Laboratories has an opening for a full-time team member for the position of Laboratory Assistant. You will be performing light duty physical work and data entry in a safe non-clinical production lab. We collect and process water, soil air, and construction material samples for chemical and microbial content, specification conformity, and environmental compliance. You will assist chemists and microbiologists in the lab as well as provide courier and sampling services in field locations. Attention to detail, work ethic, high production, and reliable completion of assignments is required. We are a privately owned technical service company operating in multiple states. Duties Include: - Receiving and shipping of air, water, and soil samples following strict chain-of-custody procedures. - Material stocking and sample preparation including cleaning glassware, mixing and heating of reagents and sample disposal. - Preparation of sample kits and equipment maintenance and part time delivery/pick up using company vehicles. - Data entry, filing and assisting with record keeping including maintenance logs, test data, and order forms. - Hands-on testing of aqueous, solid and air samples following precise laboratory procedures. Requirements: - H.S. Diploma required. Some college preferred. Technical coursework including computers, math, science. - Comfortable working in laboratory setting, use of PPE, ability to lift 50 pounds. - Proficient with basic hand tools, glassware cleaning, as well as computer data entry skills. - Clean driving record and ability to find addresses in the Las Vegas area. - Strong work ethic and team player committed to our core values of Service, Integrity, Sharing and Improvement. - Attention to detail, interest in science, reliable work, desire to learn and grow.
