Lomi lomi is a traditional massage technique from the islands of Hawaii. Instructor: Jim Funk 14 CE's for Massage Therapists Lomi lomi's energy comes from the movement of therapist to the client. The movement that is transferred to the client is much like a wave of the ocean or a tropical breeze; each movement feeds into the next. The practitioner uses massage oil along with their forearms to create ironing, circling, sawing, and soothing massage motions. Lomi lomi is a must have modality in the spa environment, as well as a great addition to your personal, therapeutic massage menu. Supplies needed: Students will need to bring a towel large enough to wrap around themselves, sheet set with face cradle cover, and four large hand towels.
