This is the re-enactor pre-registration page for the Great War Days WWI event at Rockford's Midway Village Museum, May 20-23, 2021. This is a public display event with battle re-enactments. Camping on site is permitted and encouraged. The site includes a main battlefield with opposing trenches. The main trench includes 4 bunkers with 20 bunk beds that museum tours will go through. The museum has a village made up of 22 historic buildings and a main street. The buildings each house WWI displays. Camping is also allowed on the village grounds. Thursday is a set up day, Friday will likely be a public tour display day. Saturday and Sunday and the primary public display days.
COVID-19 health department requirements this year include the need to wear a face mask at all times, except when in your designated camp, behind the rope lines. Temperature checks will be taken at registration check-in. All camps are required to have a rope line and re-enactors need to be separated from the public by 6 feet or more. No handling of display items will be allowed by the public this year. Town and woods skirmishes will not be held this year, only main field battles. Each camp can set its own rules if they will allow visitors in their roped area or if they will require them to wear masks.
