The Discover Whitewater Series, a half marathon and 5k, that is held annually in Whitewater, WI every September. Whitewater has always been known for its charm and ideal location, nestled within the forest, lakes, prairies, and hills of the Kettle Moraine State Forest in southeastern Wisconsin. In the 9th year of this event, we have chosen to make some adjustments, however, the event will still go on! Think of this as the Discover Whitewater Series - Reinvented! The number one priority of the DWS has always been to provide an exceptional athletic event for our participants. We have always intended to run a safe and fun race. With all that has been happening regarding COVID-19, our team has been following updates from the CDC and the state and local health officials closely. To make sure we have a safe and fun race day, the DWS is implementing a series of changes. These changes prioritize the safety of our runners and community while still ensuring a competitive race day. We plan to scale down the race and keep everyone safe by putting in place certain restrictions. The six-foot social distancing rule will be enforced throughout race day weekend and contact with others will be limited. All registered participants who finish the half marathon and 5K will receive a finisher’s medal (enclosed in the registration packet). Awards will be mailed out to the overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners for the half marathon and the 5K. An additional purse prize will be mailed to the top three overall men and women in the half marathon. Register at https://runwhitewater.com/register.
