The Barlow - Sebastopol Local. Food. Art. Wine. Groundskeeper In a Nutshell: The Barlow is an artisan community of shops and restaurants based in downtown Sebastopol located on 12.5 acres of land that was previously the home to a historic apple cannery. It brings together 40 of the very best wine makers, food producers and artisans creating a space that offers a direct connection between the consumer and the makers of the local products they love. It's a place for the community to conduct business, share food and enjoy art, wine and time together. The Job: The Janitor is charged with supporting all aspects of day-to-day grounds keeping including but not limited to: • Cleans campus facilities (ex. restrooms, trash enclosures, grounds, parking areas, sidewalks, doors and windows, for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.) • Identifying necessary repairs due to vandalism, equipment breakage, weather conditions, etc. • Uses and maintains supplies and equipment (ex. a variety of cleaning solutions, paper products, mops, etc.) • Pressure washing campus sidewalks and patios • Arranges furnishings and equipment for monthly marketplace and other special events. • Maintain clean dumpster areas as needed. Push/pull dumpsters for pick-up as needed. • Maintain communication with facilities teams and keep in touch with office throughout the day. • Provide support for larger facilities projects • Assist landscape technician as needed • Creating great relationships with customers and delivering exceptional customer service • Following all safely rules and regulations • Other duties as requested The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: • Maintenance/Cleaning Experience (preferred but not required) • Excellent communication skills • Spanish speaker a plus (preferred but not required) • Possess honesty and integrity • Dependable and reliable • Displaying a team-oriented attitude • Must have the ability to work with or without supervision • Flexibility to adjust schedule from time to time • Physical Demands including: lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; significant reaching, handling. • Ability to work in primarily outdoor areas in weather extremes year-round. Hours: 20 - 25 Hours per week on average. Weekends required. Late shifts required. Friday-Sunday availability from 7:00am – 9:00pm Monday & Thursday 8am-12:00pm. Subject to change.
