DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — DuPage County residents can watch trees get tapped for sap and see how maple syrup is made at upcoming events hosted by the DuPage County Forest Preserve District.
Maple Sugaring at Kline Creek Farm, 1N600 County Farm Rd., West Chicago, features 20-minute tours in which guests of all ages can see maple trees being tapped, check sap collection buckets and watch as sap thickens into syrup over a fire.
Tour dates are March 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 between 1 p.m. and 3:50 p.m.

Residents can learn the basics of how to harvest their own maple syrup at DIY Maple Sugaring: The Basics, which will be held at Fullersburg Woods, 3609 Spring Rd., Oak Brook. This program is available to residents who are 18 or older.

The tours are limited to 10 people at a time and attendees must wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth.
