Description

Press release from Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi: Friday, February 12, 2021 This morning I spoke at a press conference, along with members of the API Legislative Caucus, about the growing number of hate crimes in California, particularly against Asian Americans during this COVID-19 pandemic. I also spoke about my AB 557, which would enable the Attorney General's office to establish a hotline for Californians to report hate crimes they have experienced or witnessed. The hotline would provide a safe, anonymous place for people to report a hate crime, many of whom may face cultural or linguistic barriers or who may distrust authorities. This press release was produced by Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi. The views expressed are the author's own.
