Learn the art of blacksmithing with hands-on experience. Blacksmithing is an ancient art in having mastery over metal. In this class, you will learn the basics of the movement of metal. You will be using a hammer and an anvil to transform metals into artistic creations. Participants will also learn about the tools, history, and science behind this unique art. Everyone must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. Bring your own bottled water. MakerSpace Charlotte dues-paying members can contact Steve for discounted tickets. Minors will require an adult (who must also purchase a ticket) to accompany them during the class. Face coverings are required. Masks must cover nose and mouth, as mandated in NC. Hand sanitizer and bathrooms are available for hand washing during the event. Guests will be asked to maintain social distance during the class.
