Celebrate Black History Month with this Drive In Movie Night with our friends at Charlotte Pride NOTE: YOU ONLY NEED TO GET A TICKET IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO DRIVE AND PARK IN A SPACE. Youth getting dropped off or riding the bus DO NOT need to get a ticket. If you are planning on watching both movies you need to reserve a parking space for both movies Time Out Youth in partnership with Charlotte Pride is celebrating Black History Month with a drive-in movie night double feature! ***This event is for LGBTQ Youth 11 to 20. Family welcome if needed to drive. Seating will be provided for youth taking the bus or getting dropped off*** Our first movie starts just after 6pm and is the new critically acclaimed documentary Mama Gloria. Emerging from Chicago’s South Side drag ball culture in the 1960s, Gloria overcame traumatic violence to become a proud leader in her community. Most famously, she pioneered a charm school for young transgender people that served as inspiration for the hit play Charm. After a short intermission we will began our second feature Ma Rainey . Ma Rainey is a Black Queer Music Icon and the new Netflix docu-movie "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" featuring Oscar winning actress Viola Davis and the late great Chadwick Boseman highlight her amazing story and influence on Jazz. This event is FREE and snacks and drinks will be provided
