Press release from the City of Jackson: February 17, 2021 (JACKSON, M.S.) – City of Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba today extended the Mayoral Proclamation of Civil Emergency initially issued on February 3, 2021, in response to the recent uptick in violent crime. The Proclamation of Civil Emergency is effective immediately and shall remain in effect until rescinded or superseded by another applicable Proclamation.
