YouthServe is hosting youth volunteers, 13 to 18 years old, to help at Urban Ministry's West End Community Garden YouthServe is recruiting youth, 13 to 18 years old, to volunteer at West End Community Garden. WE Gardens provides fresh, healthy, organic produce to the West End Community of Birmingham, Alabama. Volunteers will assist the Garden Director with garden bed cleanup and preparation for Spring planting. WE Gardens, when safe to do so, also provides fresh produce for Urban Ministry's WE Cafe. WE Cafe is a pay-what-you-can social enterprise focused on building community by providing delicious, healthy food prepared by professional chefs who work with and train young adults in our Workforce and Life Skills Program, WE Work. Mask and gloves are REQUIRED. If you do not have either item one will be provided for you. Please wear closed toed shoes and and layers of clothing. Due to social distancing volunteers will be spaced out throughout the garden to remain safe and to keep their distance. Snacks and water will be provided.
