The position will primarily be responsible for cleaning and maintaining our facility, with the possibility for light woodworking and customer service responsibilities at times. (www.philadelphiawoodworks.com) ** NO WOODWORKING SKILLS, INTEREST OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ** Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): - Cleaning of our business, including dusting, moping, sweeping, vacuuming, taking trash barrels out to the dumpster, etc. - Basic cleaning and and upkeep of our shop equipment and tools - Maintenance and cleaning of vacuums, shop vacs, dust filters and HVAC filters - Receiving of lumber deliveries and organization of materials in our lumber yard. Candidate Requirements: - Must be comfortable working around wood dust - a respirator will be provided if request - Must be comfortable working on a ladder - Must be able to lifting unassisted at least 50 lbs overhead (e.g., emptying trash cans into a dumpster) - Must have their own dependable car that operates in all weather conditions. - Must be comfortable shoveling snow / salting ice - Must be legally allowed to work in the United States with a valid social security number - Must be a non-smoker because of the significant amount of face-to-face interaction with customers. Desired Candidate: - Independence, efficiency, time management, detail orientation, strong memory, self-motivation, multitasking and creative troubleshooting skills desired. - Seeking someone who is reliable and dependable. Absenteeism and tardiness will not be tolerated. - Candidate should be poised, confident and eloquent when speaking with customers and visitors. Position Details: - Full time, 40 hrs per week (Tue-Sat, 10a-6p) - Wage: Up to $15/hr depending on skills and experience. - Note: Health insurance is NOT provided through this position. - One week paid vacation, two weeks of unpaid vacation. - All staff members enjoy free member access to the shop for personal projects, if interested, during off-hours.
