Part Time- Gear Specialist RightOnTrek, is looking to hire a part time Gear Specialist for Summer 2021 in Columbus Ohio. RightOnTrek makes epic wilderness adventures more accessible to everyone, from first-time backpackers to lifelong mountaineers. By combining in-depth information about popular wilderness destinations with expertly-designed multi-day backpacking itineraries, collaborative trip planning tools, and complete wilderness adventure meals, RightOnTrek is removing the barriers to experience the magic of the Great Outdoors to nature lovers of all ages, skills, and physical abilities. We are a full-service online rental service with a focus on high level customer service and quality work. We offer a range of rental and repair services for backcountry equipment. The ideal candidate should have 2-3 years of previous shop experience, be familiar with backpacking gear maintenance, repair, ordering and have strong customer service skills, and be able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment. This position may also require time spent meeting clients at specific locations. **Please Note: This role will be part of an initial pilot program and will require coordination with across national and international time zones. The position consists of picking and packing orders placed through our website. Qualified applicants should have an attention to detail, work well in a fast-paced, team environment, be able to lift at least 30 lbs, and have the ability to work on their feet for a full 8-hour shift. Prior experience in warehousing, fulfillment or production is a plus. Responsibilities include: *Manage inventory of gear supplies in conjunction with Business Development Assistant *Develop and manage gear cleaning, repair and maintenance procedures that are cost and time efficient *Capable of repairing gear to factory specifications *Work with customers in proper usage of products *Makes updates to the online catalog as needed when products are added *Insure liability forms and waivers are completed before rental is executed *Works with business development assistant for accurate sales reporting *Sewing both simple and complicated patches *Application of heat patches *Replacing and/or repairing zippers *Meeting our high standard for quality of repairs *Keep a clean and tidy workstation *Miscellaneous repair work as needed *Ability to use maintenance equipment such as tools and cleaning products *Good time management *Strong work ethic and positive communication skills *Learn quickly, ask questions and motivated to excel *Experience repairing backpacks, tents, and/or sleeping bags is a BIG bonus Qualifications and Technical skills *Deep knowledge of of backpacking, camping, and cycling gear *Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions *Comfortable working with Google suite products and other company programs (will train) *Comfortable working with chemical cleaning agents *Must have valid driver license and able to make deliveries *Must have high school diploma, College Degree is a plus *Hours will vary depending on business needs in Summer 2021 **In order to be considered for this position please include the following on your resume as well as a cover letter detailing your experience working with adventure gear.
