Description

Let us talk about my book "Imagine a Sane Society" in these uncertain times to consider the options for your civic engagement and life! You can access digital version for free or contact me to order the paper copy for 13.1€ or 16$. We will go through options how to define one's strategy based on the analysis of the context and dynamics of change. I will also point to shortcomings of dreams like universal basic income, which has been most successful in inhabiting the imaginative and intellectual sphere conceiving an alternative future in the past decade. We will meet on Jitsi so have the app downloaded before the event: https://jitsi.org/downloads/ Once you register, you will receive an e-mail with the address of the event on Jitsi. If a utopia is detached from reality, it is a mere daydreaming exercise to cope with the pain of living in this world. Such escapism fastens the belts of helplessness and disempowerment. Instead, I propose an analysis spotting current trends which, thanks to COVID-19, are bringing us sooner to the future that has already been unfolding. We need a road map towards an alternative option. Old utopias like a Universal Basic Income are not encompassing enough to entice into action. A utopia needs to incorporate what is broken in society: feminine values and valuing the feminine way, health condition and wellbeing, meaningful contribution to society, sustainable ecosystem, and human connection. Money will not save us. Utopia is about a personal de-conditioning to heal and bring joy into the production system and the organization of society. Utopia is not in the far future. It is happening now in prefigurative practices, from which the book draws lessons for large scale change. In order to understand how we are sustaining the current system and how to transcend it, we need to look at the inner work and cultural shift to be undertaken. This book is a call for creativity and imagination, which you can begin pursuing through the exploration of the limiting precepts and imagery fed to us by those who have interest in maintaining the status quo. By engaging in thorough culture building, we prepare a fertile ground to turn a “crisis = opportunity” into a springboard towards a fulfilled life and a sane society.
