The blaster we are seeking will be a critical support role for our team by properly sandblast metal parts removing all foreign debris for coating in accordance with standard practices. We service all types of local manufacturers and as a result we have work of all shapes and sizes, often requiring the use of a forklift and/or other material handling equipment to safely handle and move. No experience necessary. If you are a hard worker, can use tools, and don’t mind getting dirty, you will be a great asset to our team. This is a FULL TIME position. Operating hours are from 8am-4:30pm. Responsibilities • Blasting of metal parts with garnet to remove mil scale & oils providing a clean surface for powder coating and painting. • Prepares surfaces using blast equipment utilizing knowledge of the materials, tools and fixtures used in the process. • Adjusts regulation of air from compressor, varies concentration of grit to obtain required surface finish. • Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements. • Utilize and maintain all personal protective equipment in performance of assigned duties and tasks. • Maintaining and cleaning filters as needed. • Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications • Ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools and equipment • Strong communication and organization skills • Ability to speak English • Basic reading skills • Forklift experience • Able to lift and/or move up to 70 lbs. • Able to communicate and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere • Maintain schedule and tasks despite interruptions • Be able to take direct feedback on blasting performance and adjust as necessary
