Description
Looking for a self-motivated, independent, positive person to work 20-30hr/week to care for oyster "seed" growing in a floating upwelling system (FLYPSY) located in Eureka City Marina. Work will often be done alone, sometimes in inclement weather. Some heavy lifting required. Responsibilies will include:
-Assist/manage daily operation of FLUPSY, including keeping a close eye on mechanical operations and alerting owner/management immediately of mechanical problems.
-Care for over 1 million oysters growing in the FLUPSY by cleaning (spray bins every 3 days), sorting, organizing and otherwise managing seed densities to optimize growth and shaping of the shells.
-Communicate with management/owner at the beginning of each working day (and throughout the day as needed) to prioritize, strategize and problem solve.
-Some light mechanical work including maintenance of small gas and electric engines.
