CANTON, MA — Canton first responders received the second dose of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine on Saturday, Feb. 13, concluding the town's effort to vaccinate all police officers, firefighters, and EMS workers. The town's first responders began receiving the first dose of the vaccine on Tuesday, Jan. 12 in accordance with Phase I of the state's vaccine distribution plan. "Canton Fire, Canton Police and Canton Board of Health working together again to give 2nd doses to our first responders this morning," said Canton Fire Department in a Twitter post Saturday morning. The department also said there are currently no vaccine doses allocated to Canton this week. However, they are ready to administer additional vaccines as soon as the state provides them. The town started working towards vaccinating home bound seniors last week as part of Phase 2 and will continue to vaccinate eligible seniors age 75 and older as doses become available.
