ATTLEBORO, MA — A Bishop Feehan High School hockey player who suffered a serious spinal injury during a game in West Springfield last month is being transferred to a special rehabilitation center in Atlanta Tuesday morning. A.J. Quetta, a senior from North Providence, was playing against Pope Francis School on Jan. 26 when he went head-first into the boards and was unable to move. Quetta is being transferred from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) to Shepherd Rehabilitation Center, which specializes in spinal cord and brain injuries. Quetta's Bishop Feehan teammates gathered at MGH early Tuesday morning to show support before his transfer to Atlanta. As of Tuesday, a Go-Fund-Me page set up to help fund Quetta's medical bills has raised over $906,000. The Boston Bruins Foundation also announced Monday that its 50/50 raffle held for Quetta had reached $300,000, "the largest jackpot ever".
