NEW YORK CITY — Thrill-seeking New Yorkers rejoice: amusement parks across the state can reopen April 9. Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced amusement parks can open at 33 percent capacity. Indoor amusement and family entertainment centers can open at 25 percent on March 26, he said. "Let's look forward a little bit to some warm weather, some amusement," he said on a call with reporters. The announcement is likely welcome news for fans of Coney Island's amusements, which shut down last year amid coronavirus restrictions. Council Member Mark Treyger, who has been pushing for reopening guidance from the statement, quickly passed along news about it.
