EAST MEADOW, NY — A Westchester man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with an assault that occurred in East Meadow on Monday, Nassau County police said.
According to police, officers responded to a home on Morris Drive at 11:50 a.m. on Feb. 15 for a call from a 26-year-old man who said he had been in a fight. The man said he was choked and stabbed by another man, and gave a description of him to officers.
Police say that the officers then located Michael Owoo, 26, of North Salem, on Feb. 16 and placed him under arrest without incident.
The victim had multiple cuts to his head, face and hand, and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Owoo had a bruised lip when he was arrested, and was also taken to a hospital for assessment and treatment.
Owoo is charged with second-degree assault, third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal obstruction of breathing/blood circulation. He is scheduled to be arraigned later today.
