HAMDEN, CT — A parking ban will be in effect in Hamden, beginning at 12 noon on Thursday, Feb. 18, until further notice, Mayor Curt B. Leng and Public Works Director Craig Cesare announced.
The parking ban prohibits any person to park, or allow to remain parked, any vehicle on any odd numbered portion of a town street or highway.
The ban further prohibits any person to allow or permit a vehicle to stand or park on any Town street or highway in such a manner as to constitute a hazard or obstruction to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The Hamden Police Department is authorized, pursuant to Section 71.07 of the Code of the Town of Hamden, to remove any vehicle parked in violation of this ordinance. Such removal shall be at the risk and expense of the owner of the vehicle.
The Hamden Transfer Station will also be closed until further notice due to the weather and associated clean-up operations, officials announced. When available, additional details regarding the reopening of the Transfer Station will be provided on www.hamden.com.
