Woman Suspected In Urth Caffe DUI Crash Released On $100K Bond

SANTA MONICA, CA — A 21-year-old Pacific Palisades woman was arrested and booked on suspicion of DUI after crashing into outdoor diners and a barrier at Urth Caffe in Santa Monica Friday night, police confirmed with Patch. Piper Pollard was suspected of crashing her black, four-door BMW into a barrier and diners at Urth Caffe near Main Street and Hollister Avenue about 8 p.m. Friday, police said. Several people were injured and at least one diner was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Her bail was set at $100,000, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. She was released from custody early Saturday. Pollard was listed on IMDB for her work on the show "Transparent" in 2014. Urth Caffe has since repaired the barriers, however, diners are now sitting toward the sidewalk and outside dining areas. Several Santa Monica businesses have added k-rails and parklets along the Main Street area during the pandemic and restaurants return to outdoor dining.
