Intimo Lounge Loses License Following Drive-By Shooting

TINLEY PARK, IL — The Village Board of Trustees voted to revoke Intimo Lounge's business license at the Tuesday board meeting, just shy of a month since a drive-by shooting with no reported injuries occurred at the bar. Five gunshots were fired into the facility around midnight on Jan. 21, according to police. The bullets shattered several windows, but nobody was hurt. The car fled before police could catch the person who fired the shots. At the Jan. 26 Tinley Park Licensing Committee meeting, the committee voted to suspend the bar's license for 21 days, with a hearing before the village board to carry the fate of business in February. The business, located at 7068 W. 183rd St. Tinley Park, has had about 34 "calls for service" since November, according to the Licensing Committee. The committee appointed Austin Zimmer of Del Galdo Law Group, LLC as the hearing officer, who recommended the board revokes the bar's business license. "The current operations of Intimo are not only a nuisance, but they're a threat to the health, welfare and safety of patrons, residents and [other] businesses around," Village Attorney Tom Condon said at the Jan. 26 committee meeting. The drive-by was not the only factor that played into the call for license removal. In 2018, Tinley Park police were called to break up a disturbance. Gunshots were heard by at least one resident in the condos above the nightclub, and police found spent bullet casings nearby. Like what you're reading?
