Press release from the City of Golden Valley: February 17, 2021 Each year the City of Golden Valley hires almost 100 seasonal employees for Brookview, parks and recreation, and and public works maintenance. Seasonal jobs with the City of Golden Valley offer flexible hours, competitive wages, and the opportunity to work outside. Although many applications close at the end of March, those interested should still apply now. Parks And Recreation Seasonal Positions Playground Leader – Employees are responsible for working as a member of a leadership team which provides outdoor fun and site supervision for youth programs such as Playground Adventure Programs, Puppet Wagon, and more. Playground Leaders act as positive role models while leading games, activities, projects, and crafts for kids ages 3–12 years old. Athletic Instructor – Employees are responsible for working as a member of a leadership team which provides outdoor fun and site supervision for youth ages 3–15 in programs such as Bike Rangers, Fishing Club, Flag Football, Kids Korner Sports Sampler, Soccer Skills, Camp Valley, and Friday Fun Day Events. Athletic Instructors act as positive role models while leading games, activities, projects and crafts. Field Attendant – Under direct supervision of the Recreation Program Supervisor, the Field Attendant is responsible for monitoring recreation activities at designated athletic fields including classes, leagues, and rentals. This position is also responsible for the overall cleanliness and operations of the athletic field, safety of the participants, and maintaining a positive and healthy environment. Public Works Seasonal Positions Maintenance Worker – This position performs a variety of basic routine manual tasks involving construction, operations, maintenance, and repair of city infrastructure and spaces. Duties include but are not limited to park maintenance, field maintenance, street maintenance including asphalt and concrete repair, traffic sign repair, tree trimming, and more. Employees are also cross-trained in other public works areas. Brookview Seasonal Jobs Brookview Golf Course & Lawn Bowling – Positions include Staff Coordinator, Office Assistant, Pro Shop Attendant, Par 3 Attendant, Driving Range Attendant, and Golf Starter/Ranger.
