EAGAN, MN—A water main break that occurred Tuesday morning near Highway 13 and Silver Bell Road still isn't fully resolved, according to Brent Massman, the utility supervisor for the City of Eagan. Massman said that nobody is without water or utilities, and at most, a few customers in or near the area may experience lower water pressure than they are used to. After the pipe burst and flooded the road, workers from the city spent two hours closing the valves that were leaking water into the street, Massman told Patch. After all the valves were closed, workers from multiple cities worked to move the freezing water out of the road, before beginning to dig toward the area where the burst pipe was located. Massman said that the workers are being careful, as utilities for many different companies are also located in that area and they are digging around wires and other equipment used for other utilities in order to safely get to the burst pipe. Massman told Patch that crews are expected to be working to resolve the issue, and he is hopeful it will be resolved midday Thursday. "Our team works 24/7 in the snow and cold 365 days a year to maintain our infrastructure," the city of Eagan said of their workers. Massman said that Water and Utilities is happy to be serving the community.
