Vaccination Event Set For Feb. 22 In Statesville: ICHD

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Iredell County Health Department is holding a drive-thru vaccination event in Statesville on Monday, offering a free coronavirus vaccine to anyone over 65, high-risk medical providers, and first responders. The Feb. 22 vaccination event will be held Hebron Baptist Church, located at 175 Hebron Road in Statesville, beginning at 10 a.m. Drivers should enter from Tomlin Mill Road to Fairmount Road, ICHD said. Health officials ask that participants print out and complete a registration form, which may be found here. "Numbers will be handed out upon arrival. Everyone that receives a number will be vaccinated. If you do not receive a number, there will be additional vaccination clinics," ICHD said. The county health department will soon transition to an online appointment system for vaccination events, it said. Iredell County residents currently have four options for accessing vaccines in the county. Iredell County Health Department, Iredell Memorial Hospital, Davis Regional Hospital and Lake Norman Regional Hospital are the only healthcare providers administering the vaccine. As of Feb. 17, more than 26,000 vaccines had been administered in Iredell County, of which about 18,000 were first doses and nearly 9,000 second doses, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
