SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — More than 4,500 Santa Clara County residents failed to show up for coronavirus vaccine appointments last week, NBC Bay Area reports. Officials estimate that around 10 percent of those who made appointments at county-run vaccination sites were no-shows according to the report. Over a five-day stretch alone from Monday to Friday of last week there were 4,517 vaccination no-shows, the report said. County officials can't say with certainty why so many have failed to show up for their vaccination appointments but have theorized that some fearing appointments could be cancelled are making multiple appointments, the report said. The unused vaccines were made available to county employees who were not yet eligible to receive the jabs according to the report. Read more in NBC Bay Area
