DAVIDSON, NC — Five crimes were reported to town police this week, including two incidents of propaganda stickers found on town property, simple assault and simple possession of marijuana, according to the most recent DPD blotter. A spokesperson for the police department did not give detail about what was on the stickers found on town property but said they were "prohibited no matter the language on the stickers." DPD issued dozens of tickets this past week for charges related to expired tags and inspections, seatbelt violations, improper passing and speeding. Davidson Police made one arrest last week. Matthew Marquise Ross, 27, was arrested Feb. 11 on Potts Street and charged with five orders for arrest. Here are the crimes reported to DPD between Feb. 9 - Feb. 15, 2021: Feb. 9 — Simple assault, Winged Thistle Court Feb. 10 — Propaganda stickers on town property, Main Street Feb. 11 — Possession of drug paraphernalia, Potts Street Feb. 13 — Simple possession of marijuana, Interstate 77 Feb. 15 — Propaganda stickers on town property, Griffith Street DPD officers issued citations including the following charges between Feb. 9 - Feb. 15, 2021: Expired tag — 14 Speeding — 11 Expired inspection — 6 Seatbelt violation — 2 Expired operator's license — 1 Improper passing — 1 Failure to register vehicle with DMV — 1 Failure to display tag — 1 No liability insurance — 1 No operator's license — 1 Possession of drug paraphernalia — 1 Simple assault — 1 Simple possession of marijuana — 1
