CORNELIUS, NC — A mobile food pantry event is set to give away free food in Cornelius' Smithville Park Saturday.
The Feb. 23 event runs from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., and is sponsored by Ausie & Martin Rivens Scholarship Foundation, Hunters Chapel United Methodist Church, the Town of Cornelius, Reeder Memorial Baptist Church and Union Bethel AME Zion Church.
Organizers are asking participants to sign-up before the event. "The information requested will take 5-10 minutes to complete," organizers said.
