UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — More Upper East Side residents have been fully or partly vaccinated for the coronavirus than any other neighborhood in Manhattan as the city's campaign leaves behind areas that have been harder-hit by the virus, according to newly released data. Five ZIP codes on the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island have led the pack in Manhattan, with more than one in 10 residents having received both doses of the vaccine. Only City Island in the Bronx and an area of northeast Queens have higher rates. Meanwhile, large swaths of Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx have 5 percent or fewer residents who received partial COVID-19 vaccinations, despite suffering more virus cases than more affluent neighborhoods like the Upper East Side. Here's the data for ZIP codes on the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island: 10128 — Upper East Side (Yorkville) Adults partially vaccinated: 4,615Percentage of adults partially vaccinated: 9 percentAdults fully vaccinated: 6,593Percentage of adults fully vaccinated: 13 percentNeighborhood adult population: 49,298 10028 — Upper East Side (Yorkville) Adults partially vaccinated: 3,648Percentage of adults partially vaccinated: 9 percent· Adults fully vaccinated: 4,809· Percentage of adults fully vaccinated: 12 percent· Neighborhood adult population: 40,086 10075 — Upper East Side (Lenox Hill) Adults partially vaccinated: 2,311Percentage of adults partially vaccinated: 12 percentAdults fully vaccinated: 2,964Percentage of adults fully vaccinated: 15 percentNeighborhood adult population: 19,804 10021 — Upper East Side (Lenox Hill) Adults partially vaccinated: 4,095Percentage of adults partially vaccinated: 10 percentAdults fully vaccinated: 6,196Percentage of adults fully vaccinated: 16 percentNeighborhood adult population: 39,649 10065 — Upper East Side (Lenox Hill) Adults partially vaccinated: 2,302Percentage of adults partially vaccinated: 9 percentAdults fully vaccinated: 3,337Percentage of adults fully vaccinated: 14 percentNeighborhood adult population: 24,466 10044 — Roosevelt Island Adults partially vaccinated: 559Percentage of adults partially vaccinated: 6 percentAdults fully vaccinated: 1,295Percentage of adults fully vaccinated: 13 percentNeighborhood adult population: 9,832 The data did not include any information about the age or race of vaccinated New Yorkers. The Upper East Side and Upper West Side, along with part of Midtown East, were the only areas in Manhattan that saw the percentage of adults vaccinated reach 10 percent. The highest COVID-19 infection rates in Manhattan do not correspond with the highest vaccination rates. The Upper West Side and Upper East Side ZIP codes all have seven-day positive rates of under 3 percent, according to the latest data from the city. Meanwhile, COVID-19 positive rates in many Harlem and Washington Heights ZIP codes are currently over 7 percent, but vaccination rates sit between 4 and 6 percent.
