TEMPE, AZ — Tempe's spring training facility will allow a limited number of fans to watch their favorite teams play amid the coronavirus pandemic. Tempe Diablo Stadium, which is the spring training home of the Los Angeles Angels, will allow some fans in the stadium — between 1,800 and 2,000 per game, or 25 percent capacity. The Arizona Cactus league announced on Feb. 1 it would open as scheduled after the Players Association rejected the league's proposal to delay the start by a month due to coronavirus concerns in Arizona. The Angels are set to face off against the San Francisco Giants in the first game of the season on Feb. 28. Pitchers and catchers reported to the stadium for workouts Wednesday. Masks will be required at all times for guests over the age of 2 except when someone is actively eating or drinking in their seats. Bags will not be allowed in the stadium for a quicker, contact-free entry. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Feb. 23 at 10 a.m.
