14-Car Crash On I-95 Ties Up Morning Commute

RYE, NY — Southbound Interstate 95 in Rye was shut down Wednesday morning due to a 14-car crash. The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. between Exits 21 and 22, the Journal News reported. All lanes were reopened about an hour and a half later. State police said construction work on the interstate caused flooding and then icy conditions, News 12 reported. Two people with minor injuries were taken to the hospital. Traffic was backed up beyond Stamford, Connecticut. Troop T - Westchester County- I-95 SB at mm 14.1, between Exits 22 and 21, center and right lanes remain blocked due to a multi-vehicle personal injury crash involving at least 14 vehicles on I-95 SB.
