Fractured Humerus in a Ferret

Hi everyone hope you are having a good day. Sunday morning my ferret broke her Humerus front right leg. The emergency vet I took her to recommended strict cage test for 5-6 weeks. It’s only Tuesday and she is being SO good. Resting like she should eating well drinking well and they have her on Metacam for pain and anti-inflammatory. My question to all the ferret owners or past owners for advice on similar injuries. And how did your animal fair after the 6 weeks? Surgery is totally not an option as I was quoted close to $5k. I’d love to hear from anyone who has had experience with this type of injury and how the quality of life is after the healing process. I look forward to hearing anything I should or need to know.
