The 5th Street Public Market, Eugene’s premier shopping destination, is looking for a new team member to fill the role of a full-time Maintenance Technician. The 5th Street Public Market is an EOE and drug-free workplace. Must pass drug screen and have a valid driver’s license with driving record to meet insurance standards. Must have open availability for all shifts, all days (including weekends) and have previous supervisory experience. This position reports to the Operations Manager. Job Description: The Maintenance Attendant is accountable for the cleanliness, safety, and customer experience at the 5th Street Public Market and adjacent properties and will operate in accordance with Obie Companies policies, standards and culture. The Maintenance Attendant has a thorough understanding of the day-to-day maintenance and custodial tasks for the 5th Street Public Market and adjacent properties. Key Responsibilities: • Performs manual tasks in the maintenance, sanitation, and/or repair of 5th Street Public Market and Obie Companies properties. • Maintain clean, safe, inviting, and well-maintained facilities to meet the standards of Obie Companies. • May assist in performing minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and other maintenance activities as assigned. • May perform custodial duties such as sweeping, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, litter pick-up, emptying trash cans, and other related manual tasks. • Act as a Supervisor in the absence of the Facilities Manager. Oversee Maintenance personnel and respond to tenant maintenance inquiries. • Occasionally carry the work-phone and be on-call for tenant maintenance emergencies. • Welcome customers of the 5th Street Public Market and provide an attention to detail that will ensure a wonderful customer service. • Abiding by daily checklists and tasks as assigned by supervisors and the Facilities Manager. • Completing and turning in required paperwork during each shift. • May operate non-CDL vehicles and other light equipment, uses chainsaws, power and hand tools. • Effectively build and maintain relationships with the Market team, Obie Companies team, and tenants of the 5th Street Public Market and adjacent properties. • Opening and closing the 5th Street Public Market for daily operations. • Regular attendance is of primary importance for every position at the Market. You are expected to arrive for work on time and be ready to start work at the beginning of your scheduled shift.
